Lamborghini Miura (1966–1972)
The first two models from Lamborghini shook the automotive industry, but the introduction of the Miura completely changed the market’s perception of the brand. The entry of Miura into the market was widely considered the reason for the rise in popularity of high performance cars. The Miura became the flagship model of the company, and a number of updates were made on the Lamborghini Miura to make competitive and appealing to enthusiasts and car buyers. Teh first version of the Miura, the P400, was fitted with a 3.9-liter V12 engine that was previously used on the Lamborghini 400 GT. When this was introduced in 1966, this was considered the fastest production car around, with a verified top speed of 280 km/per hour, and can move from 0 to 100 kph in under 7 seconds. Thanks to its power and sleek design, the Miura became the standard then and continue to impress up until this time. The Miura has been the subject of an auction, and the asking price reached 2.5 million dollars.
