15 of the World’s Coolest Battle-Tested Tanks
2. Russia’s T-14, based on ‘Armata’ chassis
It was in 2015 that the Russian government officially announced the presence of the T-14, primarily for training purposes. The new tank which was produced by Uralvagonzavod (UVZ), will be delivered in large numbers starting in 2017. The Russian government for its part has initially planned for 32 Armata tanks in 2015. Reports suggest that this new tank is planned as the replacement for old Russian tanks, including the T-90. This tank is by far the most modern tank from the Russian forces, and can be considered one of the best in the world.
According to its engineers, the tank is fitted with an adjustable suspension, which means that this tank can work on different terrains. The tank comes with an active defense system, which is designed to easily intercept any anti-tank ammunition. The tank is also confidently protected from air strikes, which means that even the most modern and technologically capable Apache helicopters cannot break the defense of this Russian tank.
