Which fuel to use?

Traditionally, petrol is being used for passenger vehicles. However, increasing fuel prices and changes in world economy have given birth to cheaper fuel options such as LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas), CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), diesel and electric power. In earlier days, diesel was not considered as a ‘clean’ source. It used to end up giving out black smoke due to incomplete combustion. However, with advent of new technology, we have common rail injection, powerful exhaust gas treatment and recirculation systems; diesel has become a cleaner option. Cheaper diesel rates are compensated by higher cost of the vehicles. Therefore, we need to make sure that our diesel vehicle runs miles and miles to prove it to be cost effective. When it comes to electrically powered vehicles, they are environment friendly. At the same time they run very less miles on full charge and hence are good for people who use their cars occasionally.
