8. Challenger 2 (Great Britain)
When it comes to top military powers in the world, Great Britain is considered on top of the list. So it is not surprising to learn that one of the best war tanks in the world can be found in the fleet of the British forces. The tank entered British service in 1998, and expected to serve the forces until 2035. This is one of the best protected tanks in the world, with the hull and turret protected by the second generation Chobham armour.
The Challenger 2 is based on the original Challenger, delivering extensive improvements. This new tank can accommodate up to four crew, with a top speed of 59 km/h. This is also equipped with a 120-mm 55-calibre long L30A1 tank gun, complemented by the presence of the L94A1 EX-34 7.62 mm chain gun and another 7.62 L37A2 machine gun. The tank is also packed with 58 main armament rounds and 4,200 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition.
