1. Hennesy Venom GT

Hennesy Venom GT

Deciding what’s fastest is a highly polarizing and news-worthy discussion. Just ask the designers and makers of the Hennesy Venom GT. For a brief period of time, the Hennesy Venom GT produced industry-leading top speeds, particularly an industry-shattering 270.4 mph speed that was recorded at the Kennedy Space Center. Thanks to a superb combo of a 1,244 horsepower 7-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine and a Lotus Elise chassis, the Venom easily trounces previous speed records including that of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, well at least for a time. Soon after the release of the speed record, questions were tossed and a debate on what’s the definition of fastest has ensued. Unfortunately, Venom is at the losing side of the debate. It was tested for just one run in a single direction, the car is hand-built and there are less than 30 Venoms made. At least, it can out-run any car on a strip.
