2. No more gasoline dependence
The depleting supply and control of fossil fuel sources have been the source of conflicts and misunderstanding among states lately. And since there seems to be no slowing down in the consumption of fossil fuels, some states and suppliers feel emboldened to dictate the terms thus putting the consumers at a disadvantage. With the increase in the production of electric vehicles, there will be a gradual decline in the demand for gasoline. According to some studies, 50 percent of imported oil by the US is used for transportation. If the dependence is controlled (that’s increase in EVs plying the roads), then less gasoline will be consumed, and the government will no longer be at the mercy of oil-producing countries.
