3. BMW i8
Can sports car-like performance be combined with economy to come up with a hip, green and powerful sports car? This may seem like a pipe dream for some but in reality, the market already welcomed the entry of this kind of supercar. A perfect example of this model is the BMW i8, an EV known also known as the BMW Concept Vision Efficient Dynamics. The latest version of the BMW i8 is backed by the 7.1 kWh lithium-ion battery package which can offer up to 23 miles in driving range under European standards and 15 miles under US EPA standards. Although the range isn’t comparable to leading EVs like the Nissan Leaf and the Tesla Model S, this EV delivers on performance that can put some regular sports cars to shame. This BMW EV can move from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under 5 seconds, and it can reach a maximum speed of 155 miles per hour. If you love these kinds of specs, then be ready to pay at least $ 137,000 to own one.
