Volkswagen Passat

7. Volkswagen Passat (V6)

This mid-sized sedan may be fitted with a number of features and amenities including responsive handling, quite ride and even a roomy interior but it has its own set of problems. The Passat may be loaded with the details and technologies a driver would want, but all these come at a hefty price. The Passat sells from $21,340 – $35,995 which can be quite high compared to other vehicles in its class. And with other owner costs including taxes, repair, fuel and maintenance, the Volkswagen Passat becomes a highly expensive mid-sized sedan to select in the market. Consumer Reports estimates that the cost of owning the Passat for five years will cost you $44,750. There are other in-class alternatives available, including the Camry Hybrid XLE which retails for just $31,000.
