For a few years now, Tesla has been pushing the boundaries of whats possible with an EV. When the model S first came out, it changed the way the world views electric vehicles. For the first time, there was an EV on the market with a range that actually made it a viable car for many. Despite its high cost, the Model S sold 25,000 units in the first two years. Not only did the car have fantastic range, but the P85 offered superb performance rivaling even the fastest offering’s from BMW M and Mercedes AMG. This just wasn’t enough for Tesla. New for the 2015 model year, the P85 gained an additional motor making it four wheel drive. This new model is the P85D and replaced the P85. While the P85 had a measly 420hp, the P85D makes an astounding 691hp! The P85D makes so much power, that it can catapult from 0-60 in a mere 3.2 seconds! This makes it as fast from 0-60 as the famed McLaren F1!
