2.Consider the make and model’s reliability

The car’s reliability rating is an important measure when it comes to choosing their first car. When checking and assessing the reliability, organizations and groups that conduct the tests will check the frequency and types of problems encountered by a certain make and model in the last 12 months. The common points of concerns include failure of engine, downtime, cost to repair and potential problems on braking and the electrical system. If a make and model has been rated as ‘reliable’, it means that it’s known for fewer problems. Consumer Reports is one of the top websites that list down the most reliable makes and models in the market (or those with fewer problems and downtime), and the list often includes Lexus, Toyota, Buick and Audi, all scoring above 70 points (2015 survey).
