All these models received a 5 star rating from NHTSA for overall crash tests. The reason is full suite of new technologies and equipment that make these SUVs safer on and off the road. Just take the case of the 2015 Volvo XV60, an SUV from a brand traditionally known for safe vehicles. This Volvo SUV is fitted with a ‘City Safe’ technology that can provide assistance to distracted drivers on the road. When the SUV is moving at 19 mph or slower, the vehicle’s system can sense slow-moving vehicles or objects ahead and will automatically put on the brakes if the driver fails to do so. With these new features and technologies, SUVs are now safer thus helping reduce accidents and injuries on the road.
