Better, stronger, faster- This is how the designers and engineers of the Ultra AP describe their latest attempt at a military vehicle. The main team that helped design and manufacture the vehicle is the Georgia Tech Research Institute, and the group was assisted by other teams from outside the institution, with the intent of tapping into advanced engineering, and used this to produce a high quality, dependable and highly operational vehicles. According to the Office of Naval Research that funded the project, this vehicle will be used to help the Marines in their operations, and will feature a fully modern chassis, high-output diesel power and revolutionary armour.
Designed as a significant improvement from the Humvee, the Ultra AP uses the base of the Ford F-150, thus tapping into the maneuverability and the safety of the Ford truck, and also assumes advanced blast-deflection materials. Also, the Ultra AP is lighter and more fuel efficient than the Humvee, making this the future military vehicle in the force!
