In the glorious standard of Ford, the 1974 Ford Mustang was an aberration. This Mustang lacks the attractiveness of its peers, and lacks the performance that defined the Mustang. Ford management commented on this poor Mustang duplicate saying that the 1970s was a challenging time for automakers due to rising fuel costs and competition.
