Centurion (United Kingdom)
12.Centurion (United Kingdom)
The British fleet of tanks is lead by the Challenger, but before the Challenger became its main tank, there was the Centurion. This battle tank was first manufactured in 1945, and was powered by a Meteor V-12 engine. The arrival of the Centurion coincided with the end of the war thus, this battle tank has not been tested in the battle fields. Its primary armament is the 105-mm gun. Although this tank missed the war, this has been used in a number of battles and conflicts, and was considered as one of the most successful main battle tanks manufactured during the Cold War era. This was made available in a number of variants, from MK 1 to Centurion MK III. This was also used during the Vietnam War, and its last appearance was made during the Operation Dessert Storm.
