These cars are amazing to drive, but because they were the first road car since the F1. There were a lot of teething issues like failing electronics. On top of that, many options weren’t delivered for up to a year after the release of the car. The cars depreciated massively, particularly when McLaren recognized all the problems and released the 650s to replace the 12c with all the problems fixed. A big example of the electrical issues is that the cars computers kill the battery, which means you can’t get into the car, since the already temperamental door handle relies on power to work.
